Country Partner: Scotland
The first edition of SSFF welcomed two Scots: Finlay Pretsell and Adrian McDowall. Naturally, they were delighted with Supetar and Brač and luckily, turned out to be very cheerful, cooperative and friendly people. Moreover, when you consider the famous jokes about the alleged avarice of people from Brač and Scots, the choice of this year’s Partner Country was very simple. The fact that Finlay is the head of Scottish Documentary Institute didn’t hurt and just facilitated the cooperationwhich involved the national agency Scottish Screen as well. As a result, you can expect many great Scottish documentaries this year.

Selected by Đelo Hadžiselimović

Inspiring films by Branko Lentić thrilled the entire audience of first SSFF (especially local), so this year we opted for a slightly different approach. We have invited the most competent Croatian documentary selector that you can imagine – Mr. Đelo Hadžiselimović. It took us only five minutes to persuade him to cooperate in the area where he feels like a fish in the sea. Đelo selected for you some old (and forgotten) documentaries of renowned Croatian directors, the names of which will for the time being remain our cute little secret.

Festival café
Last year the official SSFF café was the Ark cafe, where we also had an exhibition of the art group Otompotom. For this year though we decided to bring the festival café closer to the sea and offer all SSFF guests, especially campers, a place to hang out by the sea. 200 meters from the ferry on the way to the camp site, we have prepared for you a complete day’s stay in the shade of pine trees on the Vrilo beach with various DJ’s, entertainment programs and special festival beverage prices.
